Submissions

It is the goal of Kentucky Monthly to offer the best stories, art and photographs Kentucky has to offer. To do so, we rely heavily on free-lance writers, artists and photographers. If you are interested in submitting stories, art or photos to Kentucky Monthly for publication, please follow these guidelines:

Writers:

Please send a query letter and include ideas for stories you may have. Please attach no more than three samples (preferably tear-sheets) of your writing. Include a SASE if you would like your materials returned.

TERMS: Kentucky Monthly pays $25-$300 for assigned articles, $25-$100 for unsolicited articles. Payment will be rendered within 90 days after the article's publication.

Artists and Photographers:

Please send a query letter stating your interest in working with Kentucky Monthly. Attach three non-returnable samples of your work. Artists, please indicate your favored medium.
