Author and radio icon Garrison Keillor brings his home-spun humor to the Bluegrass State on April 2 at Paducah's Carson Center. More than 17 million public radio listeners tune in to his A Prairie Home Companion each week for comedy, music and, of course, News from Lake Wobegon, "where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking and all the children are above average."
Keillor has received numerous awards, including a Grammy for his recording of his book (one of many), Lake Wobegon Days. He also received two Cable ACE Awards and a George Foster Peabody Award. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and recently was presented with a National Humanities Medal by the National Endowment for the Humanities. In 1994, he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame at Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications.
