was it the worst thing ever? or to healthy for your contest. I guess I would like to know did it get any votes? did you even try it?
congrats to the wiener.

Loved the article and loved Erma Bombeck and her writings.

Interestingly enough, my son listened to all her books on tape (about a decade and a half ago) when he was a little guy. He actually listened to each one more than once. Just tickled his funny bone.

I remember Erma saying (also book title?) "It's time to go home when you look like your passport picture." I remember her reading the book aloud on tape and quite a few of the travel escapades she so tongue-in-cheek described, and several other "Erma-isms" that I think of from time to time.

Good genes, Steve!

God bless. Elise Buckley, A Storybook Inn

Great article, Steve! And what a great comparison--a family reunion. It felt just like that, except I daresay I felt even more connected to these writers from across the nation than I do to some of my own blood. The only disappointment is that we have to wait another two years to get together again.

In Simpson County Ky one of the best places to eat is Hot Plate on 31w North. On Friday nights they have the best catfish you can find around this area. Then if you need dessert they have all kinds of homemade cakes and pies.
