KaLightoscope at the Galt House
Luminaries at the Galt House's KaLightoscope attraction
Maybe it was the unseasonably warm weather, or my family's early holiday get together, or that I've been battling a cold. It just never quite felt like Christmas to me this year. Until tonight.
With its technicolor KaLightoscope luminaries, Candy Cane Forest and Christmas Village displays (including the beautifully restored animatronic figures from the old Louisville Stewart's department store - see the story in our December/January issue), Christmas at the Galt House provided some much-needed holiday magic. Trust me, you need not be accompanied by a child (my mom was my date this evening) to experience the wonderment and delight the attractions hold in store.
Step into the North Pole and you'll be greeted by glowing, gingerbread showgirls. Sign Santa's "naughty or nice" list (I chose naughty). Watch ice skating snowmen and a snowboarding St. Nick. See the nativity scene in a whole new light, literally. Spy on woodland creatures as they prepare for winter festivities. You can feel and act like a kid at Christmas at the Galt House. It is WAY FUN, no matter how old you are.
If you, too, felt some sparkle was missing this season, or if you just want to hold on to your happy holiday glow, it's not too late! Christmas at the Galt House runs through January 2.
Ho, ho, ho and Happy New Year to you and yours!
